Peugeot 208 is the first incarnation of the new Peugeot design, first seen in the Peugeot SR1 concept car.
Besides this new design, Peugeot 208 improves on Peugeot 207 with a significant loss of weight, new engines (including a gasoline, turbo 3 cylinder engine), and an innovating cockpit, with a large tactile LCD screen on top of the central console.

Presentation of 2011 Peugeot 208. Following a large trend in the world automotive industry, this brand new model is not longer, but lighter than the previous model. Weight gains allow to limit fuel consumption (so lower CO2 emissions).
Outside, this Peugeot 208 is elegant, but quite classical. New Peugeot design codes are present, with this floating frame, or new head lights.
On the contrary, the inside of the car is quite innovating. Elegance was sacrified on ergonomy and functionnality. Center console seems... different (quite ugly), but integers a large tactile LCD screen, that may bring a revolution in the using of the car.
