Peugeot 206 met a huge success. Peugeot kept the following Peugeot 207 esthetically close to 206, which caused this 207 to suffer at the end of its career. For the next model, Peugeot 208, a key model for the french car maker, Peugeot chose
brand new model from scratch. Peugeot is communicating that this Peugeot 208 'jumped' on generation (same argument that Renault for the Renault Clio 4, or Honda for the new 2013 Civic).
This Peugeot 208 has a new philosophy,
at the outisde like at the inside. The new Peugeot design is fully here, sith the floating frame, and a more luxury look.
Peugeot 208 is losing weight (110 kg!), lenght, while increasing the space for passengers or trunk.

At the inside, progress are huge, with an all-new ergonomy.
Instrumentation is moved up in the driver vision field, the wheel is smaller, and a large tactile LCD screen is at driver's reach on top of center console, controlling most of the car functions (entretainment, A/C,..).
Peugeot made the choice of differenciating strongly the 3 and 5 doors versions of its Peugeot 208. The 3 doors Peugeot 208 is dynamic, sporty, with a special line on the flanks.
